As part of art’otel’s core commitment to the arts and to the local community the hotel have been running an Artist in Residence programme since launch, offering opportunities for talented artists to take residency in our Studio. Sharing their artistic practices with culture hunters from around the globe and leading immersive workshops to create unforgettable creative experiences.

Eclectic interior designed by Signature Artist Jaime Hayon, Art’otel Battersea hotel immerses you in a full-fledged art experience from the moment you step in. This inspired a series of canvas works on a larger scale, Unaji researched the Pictures Generation of American Artists from 1974 - 1984, who utilized appropriation and montage to reveal the constructed nature of images. During residency Emmanuel experimented with a variety of media, including photography, painting, drawing and print, to expose cultural tropes and stereotypes in popular imagery.
